How it works

  1. Choose the PDF

Drag the file or use the button. The “Text” tool is already selected.

  2. Click and type

Click where you want the text (or drag to choose the box width) and type. Lines wrap on their own when they reach the end of the box.

  3. Adjust and download

Drag the box into place, change the font size or color, and download the PDF with your text.

Frequently asked questions

Which font is used?

Inter, a clear, easy-to-read font that’s embedded in the PDF, so the text looks the same on any computer. You can choose five sizes, from 10 to 24 points, and six colors.

Can I use it to fill in a scanned form?

Yes. On a scanned paper form, click each blank and type your answer. If the PDF already has fields to fill in, you can also fill them in your browser’s PDF viewer.

Can I type accented letters?

Yes: the accents of Portuguese, Spanish and most European languages, plus “ç” and “€”. Characters from other scripts (Chinese, Arabic…) show up as “?”, and MovaDoc warns you as you type.

Can the text be edited later?

It’s stored in a PDF text box (an annotation): other programs can move or delete it, and some let you edit the text. To fix it to the page, continue with “Flatten PDF”.

Does my document leave my computer?

No. The PDF opens in your browser and the text is added on your device. Nothing is uploaded: neither the file nor what you type.
