How it works
Choose your TIFF files
Drag one or more TIFFs into the workspace, or use the button. You can choose several at once.
Check the format
PNG is already selected. There’s no quality to adjust: PNG keeps the image lossless.
Download the PNGs
The images are created on your device, one at a time. Several come in a ZIP.
Frequently asked questions
Are the images uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion happens in your browser and the files never leave your device.
Does TIFF to PNG lose quality?
No. PNG keeps the pixels losslessly and keeps the TIFF’s transparency. Only CMYK colors are converted to screen colors (RGB), images with 16 bits per color end up with 8, and faxes with rectangular pixels are stretched so they don’t look squashed.
What happens to a multi-page TIFF?
Each page becomes a separate PNG, with the page number in its name (for example, “plan-01.png”). The images come together in a ZIP.
PNG or JPG?
PNG for scanned text, drawings and images with transparency; JPG for photos, with much smaller files.
Does the TIFF’s metadata carry over to the PNG?
No. The details stored in the TIFF (program, dates, notes) are left out: the PNG contains only the image.
