Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The images are processed in your browser and never leave your device. It also works offline once the page has loaded.
What happens to transparency when converting to JPG?
JPG has no transparency: transparent areas get the color you choose (white by default).
Which format is best?
It depends: JPG for photos, PNG for screenshots, logos and images with text, WebP for websites (smaller files).
Why can’t I convert to WebP?
Some browsers (for example, Safari) can’t save WebP. In that case we tell you: choose JPG or PNG, or use another browser.
Does the photo location stay in the file?
No. Metadata (GPS location, camera model, date) is removed. The orientation is applied to the image itself, so photos always come out upright.
