Does converting to PNG improve quality?
It can’t recover detail the JPG already lost, but it stops further loss when you edit and save several times.
Why is the PNG larger?
PNG stores every pixel losslessly, so it takes more space than JPG, especially for photos.
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
Not automatically: the image keeps the background the JPG had. JPG never has transparency.
Do location or other details stay in the image?
No. Metadata (GPS, camera, date) is removed during conversion.
