Excel to PDF
Convert Excel workbooks (.xlsx) to PDF following the workbook’s print settings: values with the right formats, colors, borders, merged cells, and images, with wide tables fitted to the page. Everything happens on your device.

How it works
Choose the workbooks
Drag one or more .xlsx files into the workspace or use the button. The first time, the converter downloads about 1.4 MB of fonts from MovaDoc itself.
Choose how to print
The sheets, the orientation, whether tables fit the page width, whether the header repeats, and whether gridlines appear. The preview shows the first page.
Download the PDF
With several workbooks, you get one PDF per workbook in a ZIP. You can also continue with another tool, for example to merge or compress.
Frequently asked questions
Are my workbooks uploaded to a server?
No. The workbook is read and converted in your browser, on your device. The first time, your browser downloads the fonts (about 1.4 MB, the same ones “Word to PDF” uses) from MovaDoc itself; after that, conversion works offline.
Does the PDF look the same as what Excel prints?
Very close for most workbooks, but not identical. Values keep Excel’s formats (currency, dates, percentages), and column widths and row heights, merged cells, colors, borders, wrapped text, images, the print area, rows to repeat, page breaks, gridlines (when the workbook asks to print them), and the print header and footer carry over. Office fonts are replaced by free fonts with the same widths. The result wasn’t compared with PDFs made by Excel itself: if the workbook matters, check the PDF.
What doesn’t carry over to the PDF?
Charts become gray boxes; shapes, text boxes, comments, conditional formatting, and sparklines don’t appear; angled text comes out straight or vertical. Formulas show the last value Excel saved: MovaDoc doesn’t calculate them. After converting, MovaDoc tells you what happened in each workbook.
Can I choose the sheets and the size?
Yes. By default, all sheets that aren’t hidden are included; with a single workbook, you can choose which ones. “Fit to page width” shrinks wide tables so they fit (the preview shows the result); when it’s off, the workbook’s own settings are used (its scale or “fit to one page”) and, if it has none, columns that don’t fit go to other pages.
Can I convert .xls, .ods, or .csv files?
No: only .xlsx. Open the file in Excel, LibreOffice, or Google Sheets and save (or download) it as .xlsx. Password-protected workbooks don’t open either: remove the password in Excel first.
