Edit PDF metadata
A PDF can store your name, the app you used and when it was created. See what’s there, fix it or remove it all. The file never leaves your device.

PDF files
Files are opened on your device and never uploaded.
How it works
Choose the PDF
Drag the file into the workspace or use the button. To clean several at once, choose them all.
Check and change the fields
You’ll see the title, author, subject, keywords and dates. Any field you leave empty is removed.
Save or clear everything
“Save” writes what you typed; “Clear all” removes all metadata. Then just download the file.
Frequently asked questions
Is my file uploaded to a server?
No. The PDF is read and changed in your browser and never leaves your device.
What is PDF metadata?
Information stored inside the file that doesn’t appear on the pages: title, author, subject, keywords, the app that created the PDF, and the creation and modification dates. Anyone who gets the file can see it in the document properties.
What does “Clear all” do?
It removes the PDF’s information dictionary (title, author, dates, app and any other fields), the XMP metadata, including any on the pages, and the private data some editing apps leave behind. MovaDoc doesn’t add its own name, and MovaDoc’s other tools don’t put metadata back into a PDF that has none. Everything else stays as it was: the pages (if your name is written in the text, it’s still there), the comments, with the names of whoever wrote them and their dates, and any data stored inside photos, such as where they were taken.
What happens to XMP metadata when I edit the fields?
XMP is a second copy of the metadata, in XML, and some readers prefer it. So no old values are left behind, that copy is removed when you save, and only the fields you see remain. If the PDF is PDF/A, it will no longer say so.
Can I clear the metadata of several PDFs at once?
Yes. Choose several PDFs and use “Clear all”: you get a ZIP with all of them. Clearing can also be a step in a recipe. To edit the fields, work on one PDF at a time.
