Are my files uploaded to any server?
No. The two PDFs are compared in your browser and never leave your device.
What’s the difference between “Text” and “Visual”?
“Text” compares the words: it shows what was removed and what was added, even if the text moved to another line or page. “Visual” compares how the pages look (images, colors, tables, positions) and marks the areas that changed, even without text.
Does it work with scanned PDFs?
Only in part. A scan is an image with no text: in that case, the comparison is visual only. MovaDoc can’t yet recognize text inside images (OCR).
What if the new version has more or fewer pages?
Pages are paired by the text they have in common: a page that was added or removed appears next to an empty space, and the others stay side by side, even if their numbers change. Without text, they’re paired in order.
What’s in the PDF report?
A first page with the summary and the list of changes, then the pages with differences side by side, with the marks of the mode you chose. It’s created on your device, only if you ask for it.
