How it works

  1. Choose the PDF form

Drag the file into the workspace or use the button. MovaDoc finds the fields by itself.

  2. Fill in the fields

Type, check the boxes and pick the options in a simple list or right on the page. Required fields are marked.

  3. Download the filled PDF

You get a new PDF with the values visible in any reader. If you like, lock the form or continue to “Sign PDF”.

Frequently asked questions

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The form is read and filled in in your browser and never leaves your device, and neither does what you type into the fields.

Which forms can I fill in?

PDF forms with fields (the most common kind, called AcroForm): text boxes, check boxes, radio buttons and lists. Dynamic XFA forms, an Adobe format used by some services, only open in Adobe Acrobat Reader: MovaDoc tells you so and doesn’t change them. If the PDF has no fields, you can type on top of it with “Annotate PDF”.

Do the form’s automatic calculations work?

No. Some forms add up values or format dates with JavaScript. For safety, MovaDoc doesn’t run those scripts: calculated fields don’t update by themselves, and we tell you when the form has them. The scripts stay in the PDF and work again when you open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader.

What does “Lock the form” do?

It fixes the values on the page, like “Flatten PDF”: the PDF looks the same in any reader and the answers can no longer be changed. Without this option, the fields stay editable. Also keep an unlocked copy if you may need to correct it later.

Can I sign the form?

Yes. After saving, choose “Continue with…” and “Sign PDF” to add your signature (drawn, typed or an image). Digital signature fields aren’t filled in here: they appear in the list only so you know they’re there.
