Frequently asked questions
Are my files uploaded to a server?
No. The numbers are added in your browser and the PDF never leaves your device.
How do I skip the cover?
Under “Start numbering on page”, choose 2. The cover stays unnumbered and the next page gets the starting number (1 by default).
What does “1 of 10” mean?
Each page shows its number and the total of numbered pages. If you skip the cover in an 11-page PDF, the pages go from “1 of 10” to “10 of 10”.
Can I start from another number?
Yes. Under “Start at number”, type, for example, 41 if the PDF continues another document.
Will the numbers cover the page content?
They’re written on top of the page, near the edge. If the document has text very close to the edge, increase the distance and check the preview.
