Frequently asked questions
Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The GIF is made in your browser and your images never leave your device. It also works offline once the page has loaded.
What if the images are different sizes?
The GIF keeps the proportions of the 1st image. The others are scaled to fit whole, centered, with the background color around them: none are cropped or stretched.
Why can the colors change a little?
The GIF format stores only 256 colors per image. Photos with many shades may show bands in gradients; “Smooth gradients” helps, but the file gets bigger.
How do I make a lighter GIF?
Choose a smaller size (480 px, for example) and use fewer images. A large GIF with many photos can be several MB.
Does the GIF loop forever?
By default, yes. You can also make it play just once or as many times as you want; at the end, it stays on the last image.
